Courtesy of staff member and local photographer Shelley (@ilovetheeasternsierra) went on a jaunt out on the Tablelands with her dogs to see how dry everything had become. Here is what she found!

Activity During Report: Off trail hiking around the Volcanic Tablelands near the Happy & Sad Boulders
Conditions: Yesterday I drove up to the Volcanic Tablelands just outside of Bishop to check conditions firsthand. Access via Fish Slough Road on the west side was easy, with plenty of places to pull off and start wandering right from the road. Conditions were mostly dry, with just a few shallow puddles that were easy to drive around, and there was no snow anywhere I walked. The catch basins in the first photo are located up on the ridge to the east, above the main areas of travel and bouldering.
