  • 15 Jun 25 - Conditions Report: Bishop Pass Trail Hike

    June 21, 2025 2 min read

    Conditions Report:

Current As Of: 15 June 2025*

Activity During Report: On trail hiking on along the Bishop Pass Trail up to Bishop Pass itself

Conditions: The trail is getting so close to melting fully. A few patches here and there start to be found a little after Spearhead Lake and continue up to Bishop Lake and after. The switchbacks just below the pass now have a narrow snowfree passageway, which is a huge improvement. Almost all of the snow was very firm and starting to suncup heavily so it is well worth it to bring foot traction devices (microspikes or short crampons) just in case. Also...the mosquitoes have started to emerge. Thankfully, they aren't bad yet. The worst time is dawn and dusk. Otherwise, they're not too aggressive above 10,000 feet.
