Big miles. Big mountains. Plenty of cushion.
The Mount to Coast M1 trail running shoe is built for runners who aren't particularly interested in stopping when the trail gets long. Around the Eastern Sierra, that means everything from long high-country training days to rocky mountain routes where the miles and elevation just keep piling up. The M1 combines a highly cushioned, responsive ride with a stable platform and serious traction for long-distance trail runs and big mountain efforts.
At the heart of the M1 is Mount to Coast's JETCELL midsole, a high-energy-return foam designed to stay responsive and consistent as the miles pile up. The 38 mm heel, 34 mm forefoot, and 4 mm drop give the shoe plenty of protection underfoot without turning it into a sloppy, disconnected cruiser.
Underneath, you'll find a full-coverage Vibram outsole combining Megagrip, Litebase, and Traction Lug technology. That's a pretty useful combination when you're running over the kind of rocky, uneven terrain we get around Bishop and the Eastern Sierra. You get dependable traction without loading the shoe down with an unnecessarily heavy outsole.
The M1 also uses Mount to Coast's TUNEDFIT Dual Lacing System, which lets you adjust the forefoot and midfoot independently. That's especially useful on long runs when your feet inevitably decide they want to become slightly different feet than the ones you started with.
