Hello from the Eastern Sierra!

Spring has sprung and the snow is melting as quickly as summer is approaching, the wildflowers are in full bloom up and down US-395, and the alpine is starting to call! While there may be a lot of economic uncertainty at the moment, we can guarantee you that we are ready, stocked, and excited to see you here in Bishop or help you prep for your adventures from afar via our online store, no matter if you're gearing up for early-season alpine climbs, trail runs in the Buttermilks, or a relaxing backpacking trip under starlit skies.

It has been an exciting couple months here at the store as we have launched a few new ideas in order to better support all your adventures and we're eager to see how they turn out! Check out below to hear about what's new in the shop, get adventure and gear tips, and see what is on the sales rack this month!

What's New???

• Tell Us What You Saw on the Trail, Get Rewarded! Submit a conditions report (words and photos) to us after your Eastern Sierra adventures using this Google Form and potentially receive a reward in return the next time you are in the store if we choose to use it for publication. No adventure is too big or too small! Information about snowlines, snow quality, creek crossings, and other related info is most valuable this time of year. Rewards are determined solely at store discretion.
• Everything in the store is now 5% off! After months of installation work, we now have a customer rewards program for the first time in like...forever! Sign up occurs in person in the store. It is free to join (unlike REI) and earns you 5% back in store credit on each of your purchases over time. Best part? The credit never expires so it does not matter if you visit once per year or once per week. It's only available in store at the moment, but it will be coming soon to the website as well.
• Economic turmoil hitting you hard? Check out our NEW CONSIGNMENT SECTION. Wanting to ensure we can meet everyone where they are at economically in these uncertain times, we have started a gently used clothing section to offer affordable options for every adventurer.
• Expanded Summer Hours Start 22 May: We are adding an extra hour to the start and end of the day beginning on 22 May and will be open 8am to 7pm seven days a week. We hope this allows y'all more opportunity to get what you need at the start or end of the day instead of missing out on an hour or two of adventure so you could make it to the store in time.
• Looking for an excuse to visit the area? Look no farther than the local event calendar for the Eastern Sierra and Death Valley on our website. Give yourself a reason to come visit - no matter the conditions or your activity of choice!

The weather has been all over the place the last few weeks - summer heat, windstorms, spring cold snaps, and rain multiple times. We had three straight days of it raining in Bishop at one point (crazy I know)!

Be sure to consult the below sources regularly for the latest info in order to properly plan and adjust your adventures as appropriate. The riskiest times of the year are moments like this when the seasons and conditions are changing. Stay safe out there!
