  • 25 Mar 26 - Conditions Report: Sierra Nevada Snow & Bishop Creek Intake Two

    March 27, 2026 2 min read

Our staff member and local photographer, Shelley (@ilovetheeasternsierra), has been out and about this week and sent us some pics which give a good idea about how the Sierra is looking in terms of snow. See the pics below!

    Conditions Report:

Current As Of: 25 March 2026*

    Activity During Report: Hiking

    Conditions

The hot temperatures over the last three weeks have brought the snowline up considerably from where it was at the start of March! These pics show that you need to get to 7-8k feet in elevation before you starting finding snow at all really and even higher than that 9-10k feet to start finding it consistently. For example, the snowline for the North Fork of Big Pine Creek trail is at the Lon Cheney cabin currently.
