  • 20 Apr 2025 - Conditions Report: Clark Canyon Rock Climbing

    April 21, 2025 2 min read

A friend of the store and one of the local artists whose work we carry here, McKenzie, got out to Clark Canyon today with a friend for a session. When she stopped by the store this morning to grab some chapstick before heading out, we speculated that there still might be some snow out there since the crags there are at 7500-8000ft in elevation but no one knew for sure (...a classic Sierra question every spring season). As such, we asked her to send us a pic and some info on her day out there.

    Here's the report:

    Conditions Report

Current As Of: 20 April 2025*

The Road: The Forest Service roads off of US 395 are dry and passable for Subaru Outbacks and anything else more capable than that. Would not recommend anything like a sports car though.

The Rock/Weather: The day was delightful! Pleasant in both the sun and the shade with a light breeze - perhaps thanks to the higher elevation. No snow or significant moisture to be found. Clark Canyon is definitely ready to be enjoyed however you desire (hike, climb, run, etc.)!
