More proof that you should need to get out while the wildflowers are blooming from staff member and prolific photographer Shelley (@iloveeasternsierra) and maybe an idea for your next jaunt here in the Eastern Sierra if pressed for time!

Activity During Report: Driving & Walking along California Highway 168 (from Bishop to Aspendell/Habeggers along Bishop Creek)
Conditions:
Sometimes, you don't need long to find the magic!
If you’re short on time or energy—but still want that dose of Eastern Sierra magic—just hop in the car and take a slow cruise up Highway 168 west out of Bishop. Whether you head toward South Lake or Lake Sabrina, both directions are loaded with beauty in bite-sized doses.
I recently took a friend who has limited mobility up both roads. We didn’t hike much—barely at all—but still came away with a camera full of photos and our hearts full. Tons of colors bloomed road side, waterfalls poured through granite walls, and light danced across Bishop Creek like something out of a painting.
Sometimes the best adventures are the ones that don’t take much. A good road, some snacks, a friend or two, and a willingness to pull over when something catches your eye—that’s all you need to make a memory up here.
