A favorite walk in the weekly circuit of staff member and prolific photographer Shelley (@iloveeasternsierra) and maybe an idea for your next jaunt here in the Eastern Sierra!
Trip Report:

Activity During Report: On trail hike along South Fork of Bishop Creek from Parcher's Resort and Rainbow Pack Outfitters towards the Willow Campground just north.
Conditions: If you’re looking for a mellow stroll that still delivers classic Eastern Sierra magic, head up to Parcher's Resort along the South Fork of Bishop Creek and either park in a turnoff along the road or park in the back by Rainbow Pack Outfitters. You will find a trail along the South Fork of Bishop Creek that winds through lush meadows that are bursting with wildflowers (see the pics below!) framed by soaring granite peaks. The real showstopper? A picture-perfect waterfall that looks so idyllic, you’d swear it was Photoshopped.
It should be obvious why this is one of my favorite stops on the weekly circuit to get out in nature or take the dogs for a walk. This out-and-back path trail is perfect for seniors, young kids, or anyone seeking a short and rewarding walk without a strenuous climb. Even though it’s just a short jaunt, the payoff is big—especially with those late spring blooms and the peaceful sound of water tumbling down the rocks. A little slice of mountain paradise, no epic mileage required.
