The weather has shifted and things have cooled down now to perfect climbing conditions. The days remain warm, but not hot, and the nights are downright cool. This is the perfect time of year to come climb in the Owens Gorge or boulder at the many local areas like the Buttermilks or Happy Boulders.
Aspens in the high country are in full change with lots of yellows and oranges.
We had our first snow in the high country this weekend. Just enough to make the mountains white for a day, but it's melting off quickly.
If you are coming to visit and play you will need both a pair of shorts and sunhat for the day and your down parka for night if camping out. Daily temperature swings can be as much as 40 degrees which catches some travelers off guard.
The store has lots of items on sale at this time. Many racks of clothes, hiking boots, sandals, and running shoes. Also a number of tents and sleeping bags.
Wilson's Eastside Sports will be changing to our winter hours starting October 12th. Currently we are open 9-9 seven days a week. After October 12th we will continue to be open 9-9 on Friday and Saturday, open 9-6 Sunday through Thursday. Closed Thanksgiving day but otherwise open every day.
