About Wilson's Eastside Sports

Wilson’s Eastside Sports started in 1977 as a mountain footwear shoe repair shop and has evolved into a full service mountain store. In the late 1990's the shoe repair business was purchased by head cobbler Tony Puppo and became The Rubber Room.

We stock and rent equipment for backpacking, climbing, mountaineering, trekking, travel and other outdoor sports. Prominent among the brands we carry are Patagonia, Mountain Hardwear, Black Diamond, La Sportiva, Five Ten, Cascade Designs, and Montrail. Additionally we carry clothing from Columbia, The North Face, Horny Toad, Prana, Royal Robbins, and many additional suppliers. We are especially proud of our footwear department with selections of climbing, approach, hiking, trail running, and mountaineering shoes and boots. We have a complete selection of local USGS and specialty maps, and regional books. We also stock a wide selection of parts for stoves, buckles, webbing, and repair materials.

In 1999 Tony and Nan Puppo, rock shoe resolers extraordinaire, purchased the repair portion of our business. It moved directly across the street to become The Rubber Room.

Our staff has varied experience from local bouldering to multiple week trekking in our area, and would be happy to help you plan your experience. We all share a love of the mountains, deserts, and all of our wild places, and look forward to helping you make sure your next trip to our area is a success.
